Torrential rain dropped more than 3 inches, while wind gusts hit 45 mph.

Narragansett and South Kingstown were slammed by a nor’easter that knocked down power lines and flooded road across the state Thursday morning.

Torrential rain dropped more than 3 inches, while wind gusts hit 45 mph and isolated thunderstorms popped up. There were no major power outages in Narragansett and South Kingstown and no reports of injuries or damage as of 9 a.m.

On Wednesday night, four tugboat crew members were rescued near Point Judith after their boat sank in rocking waves.

Heavy rain was expected to continue through 11 a.m., at which point the rain was expected to taper off. Scattered showers were in the forecast for Friday. Saturday was expected to be sunny.
