Obituary: Helen Novak Chapin, 83

Helen Novak Chapin, 83, of Narragansett, RI passed away peacefully on August 7th, 2015 at South County Hospital.

She was born on September 28th, 1931 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of Emma (Peck) Novak and Stephen Novak, sister of Nancy (Novak) Mazveskas and the late Stephen Novak Jr., both of Ohio. She earned her Nursing Degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing and her Masters at Roger Williams University.

Throughout her careers, Helen’s compassion was evident in her dedicated service to others. Helen was a lifelong horticulturist and tennis enthusiast who enjoyed fishing, classical music and devoting time to her beloved pets. She was adored by her family and left a trail of friends wherever she went. Her fun loving ways and sense of humor will be cherished by all who knew her.

Helen is survived by her loving children, daughter Suzanne Grace Chapin of Matunuck, RI, son William Porter Chapin of Exeter, RI, two beloved granddaughters Sara Grace and Sophia Genevieve Balestrieri, both of Narragansett, R.I., and many nephews and nieces.
