Over 4,000 Diplomas Awarded At URI 2019 Commencement
More than 3,700 undergraduates and nearly 750 graduate students were awarded diplomas at the university's 133rd commencement.

KINGSTON, RI — More than 4,000 students were awarded degrees at the University of Rhode Island over the weekend during the 133rd Commencement. 3,434 undergraduates and 743 graduates walked across the stage in Kingston.
Graduates came from across the country and world, with 48 countries and 38 states represented, as well as Puerto Rico. Despite this, the majority of students come from Rhode Island, with 1,903 undergrads, about 55 percent, and 473, about 63 percent of graduate students coming from the Ocean State. Graduates range in age from 22 to 62, proving that it's never too late to continue your education.
Former Congressman Patrick Kennedy was this year's undergraduate commencement speaker. He, along with four others were awarded honorary doctorates at Sunday's commencement ceremony.
