Police Discover Body On Wakefield's Main Street

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The body of a deceased man was found on Main Street in Wakefield early Tuesday morning, police said. At this time, the preliminary investigation is still underway and few details have been released.

The body was spotted just off of Main Street around 6:40 a.m. and reported to police. The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. At this time, foul play is not suspected in the man's death.

The body has been turned over to the medical examiner. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
