SK Police Log: April 4 to April 9, 2012

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Narragansett Police arrested two local teenagers on Saturday, April 7 around 11:30 p.m. after finding them in possession of a black 2002 Nissan Altima that was stolen from Old Mountain Lanes the previous night.

After bowling with friends on Friday night, a 17-year-old South Kingstown boy reported his car was missing from the bowling alley parking lot at around 1:06 a.m. on Saturday.

According to South Kingstown Police reports, the two teens arrested, Alexander X. Blunt, 18, of 73 Wright Ave., and Angelo E. Fraley, 19, of 121 Old Shannock Road, Charlestown, were seen on video surveillance inside of Old Mountain Lanes.

Although the camera angle did not provide a direct view of the tables, police said Fraley and Blunt were seen in the area near where the 17-year-old and his friends were bowling. The video also shows Blunt and Fraley exit the building about 20 minutes before the victim and then sees the boys’ two shapes entering a dark-colored sedan where the victim claimed to have parked.

No arraignment date was available.

Assault Charge

Mark T. Nevitt, 26, of 1000 Usquepaugh Road, was arrested on Friday, April 6 at 11:29 a.m. and charged with simple assault. He had turned himself in at the request of South Kingstown Police. He was arraigned in Fourth Division District Court that day at 2 p.m.

East Providence Man Arrested for Cocaine Possession Near URI Campus

Keith Freeman, 19, of 31 Windmill Lane, East Providence, was arrested on Saturday, April 7 at 2:28 a.m. and charged with possession on a controlled substance, a felony, driving in possession of a controlled substance and transportation of alcohol by a person under 21.

According to reports, police stopped Freeman’s Impala on Baird Hill Road after he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. According to reports, when police approached the car, they could see a clear plastic bag, which contained seven individual bags of cocaine with an estimated street value of $140. Police also seized $88.60 in cash from Freeman. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on April 19.

Drug Charges

• Simon M. Krasner, 21, of 17 Silva St., was arrested on Sunday, April 8 at 12:30 a.m. and charged with possession of marijuana, first offense, after police stopped him for speeding on Route 1. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on April 26.
• Michael A. Perry, 20, of 1279 South Road, was arrested on Wednesday, April 4 at 12:16 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana, first offense. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on April 12.

Invalid License Charges

• John T. Burton, 48, of 47 Harcourt Ave., was arrested on Saturday, April 7 at 3 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on April 19.
• Jamal Bryon Wilson, 22, of 664 Bush St., Bridegeport, PA, was arrested on Saturday, April 7 at 3:05 a.m. and charged with driving without a license. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on April 19.
• Robert K. Greene, 50, of 7 Beacon Park Drive, Riverside, was arrested on Monday, April 9 at 12:30 a.m. and charged with driving with an expired license. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on April 19.

Juvenile Arrested on Felony Larceny Charge

A 14-year-old South Kingstown youth was arrested on Saturday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. and charged with larceny of more than $500, a felony, and possession of marijuana, first offense. The incident was referred to the juvenile division.
