Police Log: Arrests of the Season
The following arrest information was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department and describes their actions from Friday, Dec. 23 through the early morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 27. These reports do not indicate a conviction.

The South Kingstown Police arrested Marsha J. Rooney, 46, of 80 Otter Acres Way, South Kingstown, on Monday, Dec. 26 at 11:24 p.m. and charged her with driving under the influence, blood-alcohol content .15 or greater and driving after suspension of her license.
Off-duty Patrolman David E. Melucci allegedly witnessed Rooney’s 2008 Volvo hit the center divider on Route 1 while he was driving behind her on his way to the South Kingstown precinct to start his shift.
Rooney, a nurse, failed three field sobriety tests and was transported back to the station, where she agreed to take a breathalyzer and registered a BAC of .207 and .216.

She will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on Jan. 12.
Arrests:
Keith H. Silva, 39, of 126 Pendar Road, Apt. 4, North Kingstown, was arrested on a warrant pending a North Kingstown domestic violence charge on Monday, Dec. 26 at 7:39 p.m. Silva eluded North Kingstown officers after a confrontation with his girlfriend and was arrested in Wakefield while attending a domestic violence intervention program at CODAC on Columba Street.

Silva was transferred to North Kingstown Police later that night.
Seth A. Wine, 24, of 10 Edwards Ave. Apt. 11, South Kingstown, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 26 at 6:05 p.m. and charged with domestic assault on a person over 60, bodily injury resulting, a felony, and possession of marijuana, first offense. He was arraigned on Tuesday morning in Fourth Division District Court.
Lori A. Corcoran, 49, of 3 Sparrow Drive, Westerly, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 26 at 9:26 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence, first offense, BAC unknown, and driving after suspension of her license, after her car collided with a guardrail on Route 1. According to reports, police saw several liquor bottles inside her car, some opened. Due to Corcoran’s injuries from the crash, she was not given a field sobriety test, but was transported to South County Hospital.
She will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on Jan. 12.
Joseph Medeiros, 43, of 86 Atlantic St., South Kingstown, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 8:45 a.m. and charged with domestic assault after he allegedly choked his girlfriend, who is seven months pregnant, in front of the Kingstown Road CVS. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on Jan. 12.
Louis C. Northup III, 20, of 181 Liberty Lane, South Kingstown, was arrested on a Fourth Division District Court bench warrant Friday, Dec. 23 at 1:15 p.m. He was arraigned later that day.
James W. Pennoyer, 36, of 73 Wright Ave., South Kingstown, was arrested on two active bench warrants for failure to appear from Fourth and Sixth division district courts on Friday, Dec. 23 at 12:15 p.m. He was arraigned and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution in Cranston later that day.
Attempted Break-In
A Shadbush Road resident reported that someone tried to break into his home on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 1:51 p.m. According to police reports, the would-be intruder left pry marks on the home’s back door, but was unable to gain entry. Police were unable to find any witnesses.
Naughty List:
Jane Sherman, of 364 Curtis Corner Road, reported on Dec. 23 that neighborhood vandals broke lights and smashed the ornaments on a Christmas tree she had decorated and placed in her front yard. This was the third time she found the lights broken this season, according to police reports. The cost to replace the broken decorations is approximately $20.
