The following reports describe the actions of the South Kingstown Police Department from Friday, Feb. 11 through the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 14.

One Juvenile and One 18-Year-Old Arrested with Alcohol

Nathan B. Finnegan, 18, of 15 Woodstock Lane in Wakefield and a 17-year-old boy  were arrested on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 1:41 a.m. and each charged with one count of possession of an alcoholic beverage by an underage person, a misdemeanor.

South Kingstown Police signaled the car to pull over for speeding and as the car pulled to the side of the road, they allegedly watched one of the passengers, later identified as Finnegan, reach into the back of the car with a large object in his hand. The patrolmen confronted Finnegan about trying to hide an object in the back of the car, but he initially denied trying to hide anything. As police shined their flashlights into the back of the car, they discovered an open bottle of vodka partially hidden by a snowboard.

A search of the car revealed two more open bottles of vodka. Police seized the liquor and released a 17-year-old girl, who was also in the car, with no charges and another 18-year-old man was also released without charges.  The 17-year-old boy was released later that night into his father’s custody and Finnegan will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on Feb. 24.
