Police Log: February 3, 2011
The following reports describe the actions of the South Kingstown Police Department from Monday, Jan. 31 through the early morning hours of Thursday, Feb. 3.
Theft Reported on Conan Lane
A Conan Lane man reported on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 2:46 p.m. that someone broke into his home and stole more than $620 worth of electronics.
Before leaving for work at 8:30 a.m. that day, the man believed he had locked and secured all the windows and doors to his home. Observing footprints in the snow, the South Kingstown Police said the burglars entered the home through an unlocked sliding-glass door in the back of the house after checking each of the other doors and casing the perimeter of the home to make sure the house was empty. After returning home at 2:30 p.m., the man immediately noticed his son’s Xbox 360 game system, the Kinect 360 accessory and five games were missing. After checking the rest of the house, he found a jar of change was also missing from the master bedroom. Neighbors told police they noticed a suspicious older-model white station wagon parked outside the Conan Lane home earlier that day and provided police with a license plate number and description of the drivers. Police are investigating into the possible lead at this time.
