Police Log: Two Arrested Fleeing From Narragansett Break-In
The following reports describe the actions of the South Kingstown Police Department from Friday, April 29 through the early morning hours of Monday, May 2.

On Saturday, April 30 just before 3:00 a.m. South Kingstown police received a BOLO for a white Subaru fleeing the scene of an alleged car break-in from the town of Narragansett. Officers canvassed the area of Route 1 and eventually found the suspect vehicle and performed a traffic stop on Route 138 west of Broad Rock Road. Narragansett police responded to the stop and positively identified the occupants of the vehicle as the two seen allegedly breaking into a car in Narragansett in possession of Craftsman toolboxes.
Martin McLintock, 18, of 92 Lewis Lane in South Kingstown was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of receiving stolen goods, one a misdemeanor and one a felony. He was taken to SKPD and given a felony screening date of May 24.
The second occupant, German Colon, 19, of 127 Buckeye Brook Rd. in Charlestown was also charged with misdemeanor and felony counts of receiving stolen goods.

Brian Barrett, 21, of 14 Burard St. in West Foxbury, Mass. was arrested for possession of marijuana on Friday, April 29 around 3:56 a.m. after he was pulled over for speeding on Kingstown Road in Peace Dale. After conducting a search of the vehicle officers allegedly discovered a small amount of burnt marijuana roaches in the front ash tray. He was taken to SKPD, processed, and released with a fourth district court summons for May 12.
John Levi Keiper, 47, of 31 Austin St. in South Kingstown was arrested and charged with driving under the influence with a BAC of .15 percent or greater and several traffic violations after police were called to Wakefield for a car that allegedly struck a tree and continued driving around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. Police located the suspect vehicle and observed it allegedly driving at a very low speed down High Street. Keiper was identified as the driver after he pulled into his driveway. He allegedly failed a field sobriety scene after a traffic stop and was taken to SKPD. He was later transported to the ACI.
Jaren Means, 22, of 4039 Commodore Perry Highway in South Kingstown was arrested and charged with misdemeanor shoplifting on Saturday, April 30 after he was caught allegedly stealing two boxes of sushi from Belmont Market. According to the report a store employee confronted Means as he exited the store, and Means took off on foot. Police arrived at Means’ home and placed him in custody. He was taken to SKPD, processed, and later transported to the ACI.
Raymond Matteson, 30, of 480 High St. Apt. A7 was arrested on Saturday, April 30 just before noon and charged with domestic simple assault, a misdemeanor, after police were called to the Fournier estates for an arguing couple. A witness reported that she had seen Matteson holding a female by her hair. He was taken to SKPD and later transferred to the ACI.
Kristen O’Hanian, 23, of 33 Carrie Lane in North Kingstown as charged with driving with a suspended license after she was arrested during a traffic stop on Route 1 northbound by all outdoors early Sunday, May 1. She was taken to SKPD, where she was processed and released with a summons.
Matthew Trenk, 18, of 7 Orient Way in North Caldwell, N.J. was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor after he was caught drinking by South Kingstown police officers on bike patrol during the University of Rhode Island Ooze-ball Tournament on Sunday, May 1. He was released from the scene with a fourth district court summons.
Other Incidents
On Saturday, April 30 around 4:37 p.m. police responded to 186 Main St. for a possible assault that had just taken place. Police spoke with a female complainant who stated that while sitting at the intersection of Columbia and Main Streets an unidentified woman approached her vehicle and struck her in the head with a closed fist. The female then jumped in a southbound vehicle and fled the scene. Police are investigating a possible lead at this time.
Around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 police responded to a house on Aspen Road to take a complaint of stolen kayaks. Police met with the complainants who stated that two kayaks, valued at $500 each, had been stolen. The kayaks are a Heritage Featherlite brand, one royal blue and the other red. The investigation remains open.
On Sunday, May 1 police responded to a house on Succotash Road in Jerusalem to take a complaint of larceny of two surfboards. Police met with the complainant who stated two surfboards, one a vintage eight-foot longboard and the other a Bic 7’9” surfboard had been stolen sometime overnight. The investigation remains open.
Around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 police responded to 39 Briar Lane to take a complaint of damage to a white picket fence. Police took photos of the damage, and the victim stated they would like to press charges if the culprits are found.
