The following arrest information was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department and describes their actions from Friday, June 24 through the early morning hours of Monday, June 27. These reports do not indicate a conviction.

Mason Burton, 21, of 6 White Birch Trail in South Kingstown was arrested on Sunday, June 26 around 4:55 a.m. for domestic vandalism after police found him in the trunk of an unidentified woman’s car, attempting to hide from the police. Earlier that night, police had discovered a car driven by a female on the side of Route 1. Officers deemed the driver, who was out of the car when the officers discovered it, unfit to drive. The driver stated she had just gotten into an argument with her passenger, later identified as Burton.
Both subjects were given a ride home, but police were soon called to Burton’s residence after receiving a call stating he had kicked in the front door. Police could not find Burton, but were soon alerted by another officer that they had pulled over the same woman on Route 1. While police were speaking with the woman, they noticed an unusual amount of movement from the car. The officers then opened the trunk and found Burton inside. He was taken into police custody.
