Police: Narragansett Man Had Child Porn, Guns, Pot Growing Operation in Home

Jack Rainey, 27, and his 19-year-old girlfriend were charged with a host of crimes.

A Narragansett man had child pornography, guns, and a pot growing operation going on at his Basin Road residence, according to police.

Jack Rainey, 27, of 69 Basin Rd., was arrested Wednesday and charged with a host of crimes. His 19-year-old girlfriend, Kayli Chenault, was also charged.

The state Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, acting on information that Rainey was trading child porn photos and videos, raided his home Wednesday morning. Police said they found a bunch of child porn, 31 marijuana plants, two pounds of packaged marijuana, a .22-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle, and $1,670 in cash. Police said there was no indication Rainey had inappropriate contact with any children.

Rainey was charged with:

  • Possession of child porn
  • Transfer of child porn
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Illegal firearm possession

Chenault was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

The pair was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
