Police Seek ID of Man who Broke Into Matunuck's Vanilla Bean Three Times
Can you help South Kingstown police identify this suspect?
South Kingstown detectives are searching for a man who allegedly has broken into Vanilla Bean — an iconic ice cream shop in Matunuck — three times this summer.
Police released images of the suspect on Tuesday and they show a white man covering his face with a hood or a baseball cap inside the shop.
The images had timestamps of July 30 and Sept. 1 and both occurred in the early morning hours between 1 and 2 a.m.

Police also said the suspect is connected to several thefts from motor vehicles in Matunuck as well.

Vanilla Bean is a popular ice cream shop operated out of a tiny beach house on Matunuck Beach Road. It has been in operation for decades and is closely associated with Matunuck, a small beachfront community known for its rustic atmosphere and as an enclave for some locals during tourist season.
