The 2nd Annual Pumpkin Palooza will be held at Peace Dale Congregational Church, 261 Columbia Street October 13th from 10 to 2. Featured at the Palooza, in a White Elephant room, will be a variety of autumn decorations including Halloween and Thanksgiving items. Fall crafts, baked goods, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches, as well as free cider and cookies will be offered. A major emphasis for the Palooza will be CHILDREN’S FUN ACTIVITIES including a pumpkin decorating area complete with a variety of free materials for youngsters to use, photo opportunities, as well as other fun activities and games for the kids to enjoy. The Pumpkin Palooza is presented by the Peace Dale Congregational Church’s Church and Family Life Committee in support of the popular Pumpkins with a Purpose, a month-long sale of pumpkins held on the front lawn of the Church for the benefit of Welcome House, the homeless resource center in South Kingstown. The Palooza’s proceeds will also be donated to Welcome House. A new event this year, from 10 to 11 am, will be the BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS, officiated by The Rev. Gary Bagley. A drawing of gift baskets will benefit Animal Rescue Rhode Island. All events will be held rain or shine. For information, contact Meg Kolodziej (401-788-1069), Jane Stabile (508-395-1172) or Gabriele Klensch (401-783-0244).
