FREE PRESENTATION ON COMPLYING WITH NEW LAW ON SHORT-TERM, PRIVTE HOME RENTALS

What: The Rhode Island Association of REALTORS and the Rhode Island Division of Taxation will host a free presentation on how to comply with the filing and forms requirements of the new state law that requires the owner/manager of private homes rented for thirty days of less to pay sales tax, as well as local and state hotel taxes.  Property managers, rental agents, and home owners are welcome to attend at no charge.

-How to apply for a sales tax permit

-How to file sales and hotel tax returns

-Filing deadlines
