Several Water Main Breaks Reported In Narragansett

Residents may have their water shut off, experience low water pressure or have temporary water discoloration.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — Several water main breaks have been reported in Narragansett, messages from town officials said Wednesday. Residents in these areas could experience low water pressure and discolored water during and for a little while after the repairs.

The first break was in the Point Judith area on Tuesday. The break itself happened around 4 p.m. at 112 Angell Road. Workers from the town's water department isolated to broken water main and repairs are underway, town officials said. Low water pressure will continue in the Point Judith area until the storage tank is completely refilled.

The second break was reported at 2 Southern View Drive around 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday and has since been repaired. Water service was restored to Southern View Drive and Starboard Terrace by 11:14 a.m.

The third reported break happened around 11:45 a.m. at 87 Chestnut Street. Water has been shut off to Birch Street and Chestnut Avenue between Maple Avenue and Birch Street while repairs are completed.
