Should SKIP Move To South Road or Peace Dale? [Poll]
Tell us what you think about the School Committee's decision to relocate South Kingstown Inclusionary Preschool to South Road School instead of Peace Dale Elementary per previously approved plan 29.

It took a subcommittee, more than 30 possible reconfiguration plans and almost 12 months of deliberations, but South Kingstown finalized a plan on Tuesday that will move the district's preschool to South Road School in the fall.
Although the plan leaves room to grow - for both South Kingstown's Inclusionary Preschool (SKIP) and the alternative high school - it deviates from reconfiguration plan 29, which the committee adopted at is .
Under plan 29 SKIP would be relocated to Peace Dale. To make room for the preschool and to even out student populations at South Kingstown's four elementary schools, Peace Dale would have needed to be split up and students redistricted.

Moving to South Road School allows neighborhood elementary schools to remain in tact, but the district will lose out on a potential of up to $200,000 in savings annually. Read more on this .
