West Greenwich Woman Charged With Drunken Driving

Michelle K. Diehl, 32, of 10 Saddle Rock Road, West Greenwich, was arrested at about 1:37 a.m. on Dec. 16 and charged with drunken driving.

According to police, an officer traveling on Matunuck Beach Road near the Route 1 entrance noted a car parked in the roadway, blocking both lanes of travel. Police said the car moved when it saw the officer’s car, driving on to Route 1.

Police said the car swerved several times on Route 1, and fluctuated drastically up and down in speed, from 30 miles per hour to 50. A traffic stop was made near Congdon Drive.

According to police, Diehl smelled of alcohol, and failed field sobriety tests. As a result, she was arrested and charged with drunken driving.

Police said Diehl consented to chemical breath tests at headquarters, which revealed a blood alcohol level of .125 at 2:33 a.m. and .127 at 2:36 a.m. She was processed and then released at about 3:49 a.m.

Alcohol Violations

- Police cited three teenagers for possession of alcohol by a minor following a traffic stop on Kingstown Road at about 1:20 a.m. on Dec. 16. The three were identified as:

Nastasja Rittling, 19, of 9 Old Forge Road, Cumberland

Madison A. Curtis, 19, of 29 West Meadow Drive, Brockton, MA

Noelle A. Curren, 19, of 55 Metcalf Drive, Cumberland

According to police, an officer clocked a car driven by Curtis at 50 miles per hour on Kingstown Road. A traffic stop was made at the Narragansett town line, near Rhody Joe’s.

Police said that during the stop, the interior of Curtis’ car smelled of beer. When asked about it, Curtis told police there was beer in the car.

An inventory of the car revealed a can between the car door and the driver’s seat, and a backpack with one open beer can and several unopened beers.

The beer was confiscated, and all three were cited. Curtis was also cited for speeding and transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police noted that Curtis did not appear to be impaired, and she was allowed to drive from the scene.
