Safe Not Safe at Tuckertown Park…

At about 10 a.m., police received a report of an abandoned, open safe in the woods near Tuckertown Park.

According to police, a South Kingstown man walking his two dogs in the area found the safe. Police said the safe appeared to be opened and then abandoned, and the only things remaining in it were several pencils and Florida State University stationary.

Police said the safe did not match the description of any stolen property in their records. It was taken from the scene and placed into evidence.

… And Man Not Safe Standing Up On Boat

At about 10:37 a.m., the same officer from the safe investigation was clearing the scene when she noted a tractor-trailer towing a large boat on Tuckertown Road. The officer said a man was standing on the roof of the boat as it was moving, trying to protect the radar.

A traffic stop was made on Tuckertown Road as a result. Police noted that the driver – Frank Bruno, 46, of 59 Essex, North Kingstown – had been warned in May for exactly the same behavior.

As a result, Bruno was cited for driving a passenger without a proper seat belt. The man on the roof of the boat was warned and not cited.
