Sons of Liberty Craft Distillery Takes Home Best Flavored Whiskey Honors 2nd Straight Year

Sons of Liberty Spirits Company has been awarded 2015’s Best Flavored Whiskey in North America, and has now taken home consecutive Best Flavored honors from Whisky Magazine’s World Whiskies Awards.

Sons of Liberty was awarded 2015 Best Flavored Whiskey in North America for its seasonal, Hop Flavored Whiskey and also won a Silver Medal in the American Single Malt Category for its Battle Cry American Single Malt Whiskey. Sons of Liberty won a World’s Best award last year for its Pumpkin Spice Whiskey.

“It is an honor just to be mentioned in the ranks of some of the most celebrated, longstanding distilleries of North America, let alone win such a coveted industry award,” said Sons of Liberty Owner, Mike Reppucci. “Winning a World’s Best award last year for our Pumpkin Spice Whiskey was amazing and being recognized again in the Best Flavored Category, for a different whiskey, gives us even more motivation to push the envelope and continue to innovate American Craft Whiskey.”

Sons of Liberty Owner, Mike Reppucci and the rest of this year’s winners accepted their awards on Tuesday, Feb 24th at the 2015 Whiskies and Spirits Conference at Chelsea Piers in New York City. The 2015 Best Flavored Whiskey in North America recognition brings Sons of Liberty’s award total in blind tasting competitions to 19 over the past calendar year.

The following night, Wednesday, February 25th, Sons of Liberty sampled their award winning whiskies at Whisky Live New York where 1,200+ whiskey lovers were blown away with the Rhode Island distillery’s unique approach to whiskey. Revolutionizing American Whiskey, Sons of Liberty creates craft products from distinct styles of beer and take it further by bringing seasonality to the whiskey category. As part of the first-ever, seasonal line of whiskies, Hop Flavored Whiskey is born from a traditional IPA beer and exudes light citrusy notes perfect for quenching a summer time’s thirst. Battle Cry American Single Malt Whiskey originates from a Belgian style beer and features a distinct spice and dark fruit profile.

Sons of Liberty’s Hop Flavored Whiskey prevailed over a collection of highly decorated domestic products to be named North America’s Best Flavored Whiskey, besting Knob Creek Smoked Maple Whiskey (Gold Winner) and J.P. Wiser’s Spiced Vanilla Whiskey (Silver Winner).

Sons of Liberty will again be sampling their award winning products the weekend of March 7, 2015 at Whisky Live DC where they will be featuring their entire whiskey line - UPRISING American Single Malt, Battle Cry American Single Malt, Pumpkin Spice and Hop Flavored Seasonal Whiskies.
