South County Health Food Drive for Jonnycake Center
South County Health helps Jonnycake Center collect food so all can enjoy a Thanksgiving feast

To help all Westerly-area families enjoy an abundant Thanksgiving Day, between now and Friday, Nov. 18, the staff at the South County Health Medical & Wellness Center on Post Road in Westerly are collecting non-perishable food items to donate to The Jonnycake Center of Westerly. A drop-off box is located in the main lobby of the Medical & Wellness Center building located at 268 Post Road (Route 1) next to Wal-Mart.
The lobby is open 7 days a week (Monday - Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.). Patients visiting the Center as well as anyone in the community are encouraged to bring in an item. While you’re there, pick up a beautiful Scenes of South County 2017 wall calendar, free to the community.
Since opening its doors six months ago, the South County Health Medical & Wellness Center has helped countless people in Washington County. Its Urgent/Walk-In Care Center has been mending cuts, fractures and sprains; treating poison ivy and bee stings; providing diagnosis and medicine for stomach bugs, sore throats, pneumonia and more; performing back-to-school physicals; and, most recently, providing flu shots. But this 32,000 sq. ft. modern building is home to much more than urgent/walk-in care. South County Orthopedics & Physical Therapy occupies nearly a third of the first floor. There is also a medical lab (no appointment needed), diagnostic imaging (including 3-D screening mammography), The Center for Women’s Health (ob/gyn), South County Dermatology, and South County Medical Group Primary Care—all offering convenient office hours all week long. Rotating through a multi-specialty suite are physicians from South County Cardiology, South County Health Wound Care Center, Shoreline Podiatry, South County General Surgery, and others (call 604-2500 or visit southcountyhealth.org for a complete list of services).
