SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Looking to freshen up your selection of books, puzzles and games in 2020? Now's your chance at the South Kingstown Family Swap It on Jan. 25.

"How many games or puzzles can one person have? Do you really need to keep all these books?" the event's flyer reads. "We hall have 'stuff,' some we use and some we just look at while it collects dust. Why not recycle and let someone else have fun with it?"

The swap will be held from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Neighborhood Guild at 325 Columbia Street. Items to be swapped must be dropped off from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Jan. 21 through 23 or from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 24. No items will be accepted day-of.

To take part in the swap, pack up your items, which must be clean and in good, working condition. Precount the number of items in each category — books, puzzles, games, and so forth. When you drop the items off at the Guild's front desk, you will be given a ticket with the item totals. On the day of the swap, bring the ticket. You can only take the same number of items from each category as you previously dropped off, meaning that if you brought 10 puzzles, only up to 10 can go home with you.

If you're not interested in taking part in the swap but still want to declutter, feel free to drop off items anyway, and tell the clerk you don't need a ticket.
