South Kingstown Public Schools Close Wednesday After Online Threats

Anyone with information about the threats posted to social media is asked to call South Kingstown police at 401-783-3321, extension 318.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — All public schools in South Kingstown were closed Wednesday, as police investigate threats made on social media.

Police said they became aware of the threat Tuesday night, so the South Kingstown School Department decided to close the schools out of an abundance of caution.

"Our Detectives are working to investigate and identify the source of the threat," police said in a statement. "The safety of our children and our schools is paramount."
