South Kingstown Woman Arrested After Drunken Crash: Police
Margaret Cotter's arrest was one of three DUI arrests in South Kingstown last week, according to police.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A South Kingstown woman was arrested Friday after police said she caused a crash while driving drunk.
Margaret Cotter, 66, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs (second offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
South Kingstown police said the crash happened around 6:52 p.m. on Route 138.

Cotter is scheduled to appear in Washington County District Court in Wakefield on Thursday

"We continue to see a disturbing number of adults who are making bad decisions and driving impaired on our roads at all hours of the day," Police Chief Matthew Moynihan said "Our officers are out on patrol, but with more than 300 miles of road in South Kingstown, we can’t be everywhere, so we certainly appreciate the public’s help in identifying impaired drivers."
