Firefighters were called to a house fire in the vicinity of 82 or 83 Prospect Road.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI —The Union Fire District responded Tuesday morning around 11 to a fire on Prospect Road. According to Deputy Chief Lance Whaley, it was "actually a very small electrical fire," which broke out in the attic of a three-story house.

"It was a small smoldering fire" and mostly out when the fire department arrived, he said, and it was completely doused in 10 minutes.

"This was a very, very minor fire in attic space," he said. It was confined to the attic, and there was no issue with wind or weather to complicate the firefighting, he said.
