Teen Snorkeler Pulled from Water in Narragansett Dies

The girl, 14, was from Massachusetts.

A 14-year-old girl who went missing while snorkeling off Newton Rock in Narragansett and was pulled from the water about two hours later, has died.

UPDATE: POLICE ID VICTIM

Narragansett Police Chief Dean Hoxsie said that the girl was pronounced dead at South County Hospital.

The girl was from Southfield, Mass., and was snorkeling with her father he lost sight of her.

A rapid response from the Narragansett Bay Marine Task force and the U.S. Coast Guard was launched to find the girl. Crews used boats, divers, a helicopter and search plane to find the girl.
