"The Weaver", a 1919 bronze sculpture by noted American sculptor Daniel Chester French, is a local treasure of which some residents may not be aware. This hidden gem located on the lawn of the Peace Dale LIbrary (facing the Village Green), was commissioned by Caroline Hazard (1856-1945) in memory of her father (Rowland Hazard 1829-1898) and her two brothers. The talk will be presented by Local History Librarian, Jessica Wilson, who researched the history of the work and created a digital exhibit for the Library website. Registration is required.
