Uniquely Different...

   Sometimes, the 'square-peg', simply, does NOT fit into the 'round-hole'; for, each and every one of us is, indeed, quite different, with each our own, personal strengths, gifts, and, 'genius', if you will. To make the assumption, that, a person is weak, dumb, 'slow' or, plain-stupid, based on the fact that he or she is unable to perform at something, or, struggles to succeed in areas of life, where most, do not, is 'unfair' to say the least. There exists a quote by Albert Einstein, a man known to all as a genius, himself. If for no other reason, than the quote itself, he deserves this recognition; for in his sage and wise-words he completely, captured the, true, essence of the need to respect the 'individual' and, that person's uniqueness and abilities. The quote is: 'Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish on it's ability to climb a tree, it will live it's whole life believing that it's stupid.' Not all persons are equipped with the same abilities; yet, each, person, does, indeed, possess his/her own, knowledge and skills. Simply, because one may 'struggle' in an area of life, or, academia, does not make this person a failure; It only indicates, that, he/she is not 'working' in their area of 'expertise'. An unfortunate aspect of our, 'generalized', educational-system is, that, frequently, a student is considered a failure, or 'slow', based on an inability to excel or, simply, 'keep-up' with fellow-students; However, if the system could more, successfully address the needs of individuals, to assist them in discovering their personal-'power' and individual-strengths and abilities, well...in a 'perfect-world' this IS what would occur, and, folks, in general, would be more, successful, as the result. Unfortunately, it is more often, that, we are 'expected' to all 'fit' into the same, mold, and, this, frequently, is the impetus behind the 'failures' and 'failings' of so, many. It is important to 'keep in mind' the reality, that, a fish will NEVER be able to climb a tree; yet, in it's own, environment, it succeeds and survives as it is, naturally, equipped to. Just Sayin'...
