URI Physical Therapy Clinic to treat clients throughout summer
The state-of-the-art clinic serves University patients, as well as the general public at its Independence Square location on Route 138.

The University of Rhode Island Physical Therapy Clinic has announced it will continue evaluating and treating orthopedic and neurologic conditions for students, faculty, staff and the general public after the spring semester ends, continuing throughout the summer.
The Physical Therapy Clinic, a division of the URI College of Health Sciences, is located in Independence Square, 25 Independence Way, Kingston. The full-time, outpatient clinic, available to University patients as well as the outside community, is staffed by licensed Physical Therapy Department faculty members with advanced training in orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation. Graduate students in the College’s Physical Therapy program also work with clients under faculty supervision.

- Evaluation and treatment of orthopedic, sports and neurologic conditions.
- Ergonomic work-station evaluations.
- Work conditioning.
- Return to sport programs.
- Prevention/wellness group exercise classes for at-risk clients.
- Aquatic therapy at Tootell Aquatic Center Pool
- Dry needling
The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools in its advanced labs, including
- Isotonic, free-weight and Isokinetic strengthening and testing devices
- Balance Master
- Work simulation equipment
- Simi 2D motion analysis
- GaitRite analysis of walking
- EMG biofeedback
- Cardiovascular equipment
- Electrical, thermal and cryotherapeutic modalities
