Victim In Fatal Crash Identified: South Kingstown Police

A 40-year old Carolina man died Monday when his car hit a tree, police said.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A 40-year old Carolina man died Monday when his car hit a tree, police said. The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Liberty Lane near Blueberry Lane. A caller alerted police.

"Emergency units responded and discovered a vehicle had struck a tree," police said. "The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene."

Stacy Price, 40, of Carolina, was driving his 2016 Chevy Corvette west on Liberty Lane and struck a tree at the intersection of Liberty Lane and Blueberry Lane, police said. He was the only person in the car.

"Speed appears to be a contributing factor in the crash and no witnesses observed the accident," which is being investigated by the South Kingstown Police Accident Reconstruction Unit and the South Kingstown Detective Division, police said.
