SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Are you looking to avoid having your packages stolen by "porch pirates" this holiday season? South Kingstown police said they are offering residents a safer solution.

Police will let residents have their packages sent to the department to avoid falling victim to theft. To do so, C/O your name to:

To retrieve your package, check in with the records clerk or dispatcher and provide a photo ID.

Make sure to follow these instructions when buying packages online to send to the police department:

• Include your name and “Attn: Ship to Station” at checkout when making online purchases
• Forward your confirmation email to shiptostation@skpd.org so the department knows when to expect the package and can notify you when it arrives.
