
A 22-year-old Warwick man has been indicted on first-degree rape charges stemming from a Feb. 2012 incident in Narragansett.
Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin said Thursday that the Providence County Grand Jury reported out the indictment charging Shawn Manchester, of 109 Grove Ave., Warwick, with one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree sexual assault.
Manchester allegedly raped a woman on Feb. 5, 2012 in Narragansett.

Narragansett police investigated the crime and an arrest warrant was issued at the time of his indictment.
Manchester was arrested today by Narragansett Police and arraigned in Washington County Superior Court before Superior Court Justice Stephen P. Nugent. He entered a plea of not guilty and ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston.
