What's Round Gen. Stanton Flea Mrkt. That's Causing a Stir?
Vintage mixing bowls and vintage memories of licking the bowl, are all part of The General Stanton Inn Flea Market Experience...

Bowls have been 'round a long time...(literally and figuratively, smile...)--just like The General Stanton Inn Flea Market itself--which this year, is celebrating its' 53rd season of being around!
Have you noticed the super bowl (dining ) trend surrounding us during the past 4 years? Breakfast, lunch, dinner: it seems everything's being served up in a bowl! There's whole restaurants built around bowl-dining and there's bowl-centric cookbooks. There's even a restaurant named Edibol (double smile...)
Small plates were suggested (and much adapted) for portion control, a decade or so ago...So why are small plates seemingly
"so out"? And why are bowls "so in"?

Bowl boosters claim a healthier,, more well-rounded mix of food can come together in a bowl and
"get blended" better...instead of being "pushed around" the plate...(Funny, I've never met a pushy plate!? Have you?!)
Others claim food's more photogenic in-the-round (for those who enjoy cataloging their consumables for posterity...)

There's two main thoughts rolling around this writer's brain-bowl about bowl-eating. First, for you multi-taskers, it is easier to balance a bowl than a plate if there's no table involved. A bowl is a perfect vessel for keyboarding at work (or play), tv surfing, bouncing the baby on one knee...while concurrently spooning in sustenance. you name it, the bowl's still got it...(instead of the floor or your favorite shirt!)
And perhaps in uncomforting times, bowls can bring us back to comfortable memories, as we sit eating a perfectly-portioned bowl of....comfort-food oatmeal or other cereal from childhood memory...or ice cream...or that most jiggly of jolly vintage comfort foods...Jello! There's still a memory galloping around the corral of this writer's brain: of brother lassoing cheerios from a plastic cowboy hat-shaped bowl in the late 1950s....or was it the early 60s, Pardner?
The General Stanton Inn 's vintage and collectible market, is in unique shape to be your own personal bowl-a-rama...and has a whole season's worth of bowl comfort to offer you this season.
Al fresco...and in the round, you'll find berry bowls, cereal bowls, dipping bowls, dough bowls, French cafe au lait bowls, fruit bowls, punch bowls, rice bowls, salad bowls, serving bowls, soup bowls, mixing bowls...and more. Antique, vintage and collectible, you'll be able to buy bowls at The Gen. Stanton Inn Flea Market made from glass, metal, ceramics, plastics and wood.
You'll find fantastically Flea Market priced bowls--everything from prized Pyrex to the equally revered, party-hardy Fiestaware.. (Can't you see one of those vintage turquoise Fiesta bowls brimming with your family-treasured chowduh?!...or a vibrant yellow or red Fiesta bowl, steaming with your 4-alarm chili?!)
