Worst of Rain This Afternoon & Evening, Weather Service Says
At high tide, a 1 to 2 foot storm surge could cause minor flooding along the coast, the National Weather Service said.

NEWPORT, RI — The National Weather Service says the heaviest rain and any thunderstorms will come between 1 and 8 p.m. Thursday. At the coastline, there's also a possibility of minor flooding.

Expect a 1 to 2 foot storm surge along the South Coast at high tide, which will happen early this evening. The splash over and flooding are supposed to be minor.
