41-Pounder Weighs in as Winner of Annual Spearfishing Tourney

The Hannah Grace Fundraiser for the MAGIC Foundation turned out numerous spearfishing tournament participants to King Park on Saturday, thanks to the efforts of organizers Rob Marvelle Jr., wife Jodi and Rob Sr., whose family suffered a tragedy related to a child growth disorder known as Turner's Disease several years ago.

Additionally, spearfishing equipment was raffled off, including Flippers to Guns, MARES Pure Instinct, Beau Chat, Hammerhead Spearguns & Spector Champions Equipment, sponsored by Newport Free Dive.  Raffle and all proceeds benefit the MAGIC Foundation.

Spearfishermen from throughout the northeast rounded up and proudly displayed their day's catch for the "WAY OFF" and trophy presentation.

Winners from the Bass and Black Fish categories were:

• Gabe Matthias, with a winning Bass weighing in at 41 pounds exactly.
• John Warnack, weighed in his Black Fish at 8.8 pounds for the winner in that category.
