Illuminated Garden's First Night Canceled

"Extreme mud" and inclement weather has canceled the first night for the seventh annual , Friends of Ballard Park wrote in an email.

Saturday's walk in the quarry meadow of is still set for 6-9 p.m.

"Enjoy an evening walk in the [meadow] when it is transformed into a magnificent blooming winter garden of lights. Thousands of lights will sparkle in a series of unique displays again this year," the email stated.

The group cautioned against potentially hazardous trail conditions:

Trails are rugged and may be muddy and dark in places ... please wear appropriate shoes or boots. Event goers may also want to bring a flashlight.
