Festival Unleashes A Cinematic Symphony Of Horror From Across The Globe

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (10/8/12) — A symphony of cinematic horror slashes its way across the big screen as the FLICKERS: Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) unspools its 13th Annual RI International Horror Film Festival, October 25-28th. In addition to its traditional spooky film fare, this year's festival includes a return of its popular H.P. Lovecraft Walking Tour presented in collaboration with the RI Historical Society, a Date-Night of Horror with an exclusive screening of “The Barrens” starring Stephen Moyers (True Blood), and a Forum that looks behind the scenes of making horror films in the Ocean State featuring Steven Feinberg, Executive Director of the RI Film and Television Office

The 2012 festival will include an expanded focus featuring horror, thrillers and sci-fi programming plus screenings in Providence at three locations: Jamestown, Kingston, Bristol, and Newport at Fort Adams State Park.

The FLICKERS: RI International Horror Film Festival is an eerie-sistable salute to what is an often-overlooked genre that will include a bevy of World and U.S. Premiers of short, feature-length and documentary films. In all 63 films have been selected from 461 submissions and include works from 20 countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Georgia and the United States. Many of the filmmakers will be in attendance, so audience members will have a chance to meet, ask questions, and even network with the next generation of horror-auteurs.
