THE BENRUS OPEN AT THE PRESERVE

Giovanni Feroce, Chairman and CEO of BENRUS, LLC, and Paul Mihailides, Chairman of The Preserve, announced today that the name of the PGA tournament coming to the latter’s four-season sporting retreat in Wyoming, RI on June 18 has been changed from “The Preserve OPEN” to “The BENRUS OPEN at the Preserve – GREATEST DAY IN GOLF.” The change was made to reflect common practice across PGA professional tournaments which provides naming rights to the title sponsor of the event.

  “For my company and me, the change reflects a swift evolution from sponsorship to partnership,” noted Feroce. “Just two months ago, I committed BENRUS to become the tournament’s Presenting Sponsor. Since then, Paul and I have come to realize that we share powerful commitments to the economic well-being of our state and country, and quintessentially – that entrepreneurial American spirit.”

“Once BENRUS came on board as our Presenting Sponsor, Giovanni and I took our efforts a step further, refining and expanding the tournament’s concept, and charting its course over the coming years,” added Mihailides. “I knew then that he was making more than a financial investment in this project – he was really putting his brand on the line. “The BENRUS OPEN at The Preserve will undoubtedly be the GREATEST DAY IN GOLF,” Feroce said. “Golfers still will be competing for more than $20 million in cash and prizes, and every tee shot on all 18 par-three holes still will be worth $1 million for a hole-in-one. The BENRUS OPEN at The Preserve has been designed to respond to the golfing world’s demand for more fast-paced and exciting play. Organizers anticipate huge television audiences on both NESN and ESPN networks, where viewers will undoubtedly be riveted by the adrenaline rush delivered with every potential million-dollar drive off the tee. “Tournament sponsorships are being snapped up quickly for an event that will change the way people think about, watch, and even play golf,” said Mihailides.
