Bitterly Cold Temps, Wind Chills Move In After Weekend Storm
Plunging temperatures and frigid winds have officials urging Rhode Islanders to stay home and stay warm.

Much of Rhode Island remains under a sheet of ice for Monday's holiday, with single-digit temperatures and wind chills well below zero degrees Fahrenheit. The weekend's storm has passed, making way for sunny skies, though officials say the danger is not yet passed.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has continued to report a high number of crashes and disabled vehicles throughout Monday morning and afternoon. Drivers are encouraged to continue to use increased caution, as black ice is often invisible while driving.
Travel conditions are improving, but black ice will continue to pose a danger for motorists tonight and tomorrow. The RI State Police encourages people to stay off the roads if possible to allow @RIDOTNews and other crews to continue clearing the roads to make them safe.
