Civility Doesn't Hurt; Bullying Words Do
Stressful situations can lead to rude responses, but mature people can try to get around that
Disasters, natural and otherwise, bring out the best and worst in people. Mutual concern about others' safety is obvious in personal conversations, community action, and shared comments in venues such as this type of social media. Unhappily, the worst is shown in these ways, too. I understand that a person's difficult situation might cause anger and spontaneous outbursts toward emergency and utilities personnel who cannot respond in a timely fashion. However, verbal bullying (my take on some public comments) would not be accepted if our youngsters resorted to that. I'm fairly sure that this thought will be the target of some folks' anger, but so be it. It had to be said.
Here's wishing safe times to all.
