Island Overstock, Newport’s newest flash sale event, is happy to announce that they have partnered with the Station Fire Memorial Foundation. The Foundation, an all-volunteer 501©3 charitable organization, remembers the 100 victims of the Station Nightclub Fire in June 2003. Island Overstock will be donating a percentage of their salesfrom their multi-day event, taking place at the Hotel Viking on May 17th– May 19th.

“The Station Fire Memorial Foundation a statewide cause and many families in Rhode Island were affected by the tragedy,” said Kathy Wilson, Owner of Island Overstock. “On the tenth anniversary of the fire, the Foundation is currently raising money for a proper memorial on the grounds. I’d like to support this positive outcome for the victims, their families, and the community.”

About the Station Fire Memorial Foundation

Family members and friends of the 100 cherished people who died as a direct result of the Station Fire founded the Station Fire Memorial Foundation in June 2003. Our purpose is to ensure that our loved ones would receive a proper memorial upon the sacred ground where their lives were so tragically cut short. The Station Fire Memorial Foundation procured the land known as the Station Site on September 28, 2012 through a gracious donation. It is our intent that the Foundation not only build but maintain the Memorial site and as such, fundraising is expected to be long-term. The Foundation encourages maximum participation by affected Family members and Survivors of the tragedy. To learn more, visit: http://www.stationfirememorialfoundation.org/index.html.
