Local 4-H Club Visits Carr Point for Beach Clean-Up
Balfour Beatty Communities NAVSTA Newport kicked off Sustainability Month with the Mighty Middletown 4-H Club hosting a beach clean-up at Carr Point off of Defense Highway in Portsmouth, RI.
Balfour Beatty Communities NAVSTA Newport kicked off Sustainability Month by hosting a beach clean-up at Carr Point off of Defense Highway in Portsmouth, RI. The Mighty Middletown 4-H Club teamed up with the Anchors Aweigh Club from the Navy CYP to pick up over 15 bags of trash along the shoreline and in the neighboring wooded areas. The groups also took a few minutes to examine some of the local marine biology including crabs and clams, which they have been studying for the past two months.
All current Balfour Beatty residents ages 5 to 18 are welcome to join the Mighty Middletown 4-H Club. The Club Members say… “Our club is fun! We pick the projects we want to do like pumpkin art, cooking and marine biology.” Members can participate in 4-H activities just in our community or events all around the state including public speaking contests, science workshops, and fairs.
