These days, the chaise lounge has taken many styles, shapes and forms. From ornately upholstered to mod and sleek- the chaise lounge can likely find a home in any space.
Thought to have originated in Egypt, the earliest known models of the “Chaise Lounge” were made from palm sticks laced together with pieces of cord or rawhide. Ancient Greek artwork shows gods and goddesses lounging in these luxurious chairs, sipping wine and feeding each other grapes. The Greek folks decided it was more fun to recline on a chaise than to sit up straight at a table and heck- we agree! These days, the chaise lounge has taken many styles, shapes and forms.
