What I miss most about Newport . . . . .

What I miss the most about Newport . . . . .

Even though it's roughly forty years since I left Newport and moved inland aways, the thing that I miss the most about Newport . . . is NOT going from late Winter straight into Summer.   Inland, it gets too warm, too soon.

Take today:  in Providence and environs, it must be around 63 or so in early to mid-afternoon.   I'll bet five bucks that the temperature high in Newport is under 53 . . . and probably about 48 or 49.   And THAT will ALWAYS seem NORMAL to me.

Inland, it's always "too much too soon".   If it's heat ya want, g'wan down South!

[I admit that I don't miss the fog,...common in late Spring there.]
