Discover Rhode Island's Amazing Wild Mushrooms

NEWPORT, RI— Mushroom enthusiasts Ryan T. Bouchard and Emily Schmidt will be sharing their love of Rhode Island’s native mushrooms at the Newport Public Library, 300 Spring Street, Newport, Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 6:00-7:30 PM in the library’s Program Room.

Bouchard and Schmidt’s talk, Mushroom Hunting: R.I.’s Amazing Wild Mushrooms, will introduce the audience to the fun of mushroom science and the amazing hobby of mushroom hunting. The pair’s presentation includes a slideshow featuring all local photography.

Ryan Bouchard is the author and photographer of Gourmet Mushrooms of Rhode Island, the first book about mushroom hunting in the Ocean State.

Emily Schmidt is a mushroom connoisseur, who studies the countless ways local mushrooms can be used for creating creative and nutritious dishes.

This event is free and open to the public. Copies of Gourmet Mushrooms of Rhode Island will be available for purchase.
