The Atlantic Cup presented by 11th Hour Racing is the only dedicated Class40 sailing race in the United States. The 2012 race kicks off in Charleston, South Carolina May 11th. From Charleston competitors will race double-handed to New York City. There will be approximately a 4-5 day stop-over in New York before the race restarts May 19th and competitors sprint to Newport, Rhode Island. Once in Newport, skippers will race an inshore grand prix May 26th & 27th with a crew of six.
With 15+ entries from France, Germany, England and the U.S., The Atlantic Cup is the largest Class 40 fleet ever to race in the United States and the races last stop is in Newport.
Come down to the Shipyard from 4-7pm for complimentary cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres and watch the $30,000 prize purse presentation to the Atlantic Cup winners. There will also be a Sports Memorabilia Raffle to benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
