GAUDET MIDDLE SCHOOL WATER BOTTLE FILLING STATION INSTALLED

GREEENLOVE FOUNDATION END EARTH MONTH WITH A BANG!!! -- TWO WATERBOTTLE FILLING STATION INSTALLED TO CELEBRATE AND SUPPORT EARTH MONTH

The GreenLove Foundation installed two water bottle filling stations during the month of April in celebration of EARTH DAY 2017. The two new locations are at the Middletown Gaudet School and Johnston High School. These are the schools’ first water bottle filling station.

On Monday, April 24th, Johnston High School, in Johnston, RI was the recipient of a Greenlove water station, a result of Johnston’s Chem Club moving request to Greenlove. The water station was Johnston Schools’ first water bottle filling station. The donation to JHS was well deserved. The Chem Club in their beautifully written letter demonstrated their passion and commitment to the environment. The letter outlined all the efforts they have made in the interest of our environment and the Senior’s wish to see a water station installed at the school prior to graduation. The school Principal, Dennis Morrell, stated “Doing this in Kendra’s memory is helping us change our little corner of the world, especially in a town that we live in. We have the landfill, and I think it’s very important for us as Johnstonians to be very conscious of our environment”. The school to raise funds purchased re-useable water bottles with the school logo.

The second Greenlove water bottle filling station was unveiled Friday, April 28, 2017, at J.H. Gaudet Middle School, Middletown, RI. This is also Middletown Schools’ first water bottle filling station. The unveiling occurred among a large group of students, the Principal, Beth Hayes, a school committee member, and Greenlove peeps. The water station station is an outdoor model and was placed in Gaudet’s athletic fields area. The location is an ideal site for the water station as it will serve the Middletown Middle School, the high school and Salve University athletics plus it will be widely used by the Middletown community who use the field for the exercise routine.

The foundation has installed a total of seven stations in the state of RI. Each of the filling stations has a counter that indicates how many times a reusable bottle is used to fill with water. To date, the total exceeds 75,000 counts! The filling stations offers cleaner, healthier water that keeps drinking water safe by using filters that meet federal and state low-lead requirements. An electronic sensor provides a one handed touch-less sanitary operation. The filling stations are ideal in education and recreational facilities because the bottle fillers provide convenient hydration with a rapid fill of filtered water to quench thirst and minimize plastic bottle waste in our environment. Also, the stations saves money and energy spent on producing disposable plastic bottles.

On another note, Greenlove was celebrated during Earth Month by Newport local businesswoman, and founder of FARMAESTHETICS, Brenda Brock by donating a percentage of FARMAESTHETICS’s in store sales during the entire month of April and held an end of the “April Greenlove Month at Farmaesthetics” party for Greenlove’s family, friends and supporters.

Greenlove is beyond grateful for Johnston and Middletown schools joining the green movement and supporting their mission and for FARMAESTHETICS continued generous support!

The Greenlove was founded in loving memory of Kendra L. Bowers.
