Juvenile Arrested for Violating Curfew, Possessing BB Gun

The juvenile is not supposed to be out past 6 p.m. on weeknights as ordered by the courts.

Newport Police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile early Wednesday morning after he allegedly violated a court-ordered curfew.

Police said at around 12:30 a.m., they stopped the car he was driving for not having a front license plate.

The juvenile told police that he was coming home from work at first, but eventually admitted to hanging out with friends.

Police said the juvenile is restricted from being out past 6 p.m. on week nights. He was ordered held at the Rhode Island Training school pending arraignment later on Wednesday morning.
