List of Roads Impacted by April 15 'Rhode Races'

Newport police are advising motorists to avoid the area around the race course, which starts at Easton's Beach and Memorial Boulevard.

NEWPORT, RI — Newport's going to be an extra busy place on April 15 when the Newport Rhode Races kick off. Nearly 2,000 runners will compete in the event, which features a marathon, half marathon and 5k, on Saturday, April 15.

The marathon begins at 7:30 a.m., the half marathon at 8 a.m., and the 5k begins at 8:15 a.m. at Easton’s Beach, Memorial Boulevard.

According to Newport police, motorists may experience temporary delays near the race course. Police are asking drivers to seek alternate routes.

Runners will travel from Memorial Boulevard to Annandale Road, Narragansett Avenue, Marchant Street, Wellington Avenue, Harrison Avenue, Ocean Avenue, Bellevue Avenue, Ruggles Avenue, Ochre Point Avenue, Narragansett Avenue, Annandale Road, Memorial Boulevard to Easton’s Beach.

Memorial Boulevard Eastbound will be closed from Middleton Avenue to the Middletown Town line.

Memorial Boulevard Westbound will be utilized for both east and west bound motor vehicle traffic between Middleton Avenue and the Middletown Town line.
