MASTER CRAFTSMEN SUCH AS NEWPORT-BASED TEXTILE ARTIST MEG LITTLE, TO EXHIBIT AT AMERICAN FINE CRAFTS SHOW AT BROOKLYN MUSEUM
Few produce rugs themselves, says Meg Little, one of 90 artists to sell her work @ the craft show in the museum's majestic Beaux-Arts Court
Textile arts made by artists such as Newport rug-maker Meg Little, as well as craftsmen in glass, ceramics, wood and leather, transformed to one-of-a-kind decorative and/or functional pieces, will highlight the third American Fine Craft Show Brooklyn at Brooklyn Museum November 21-22, 2015. This work, including furniture, will punctuate the museum’s Beaux-Arts Court joined by jewelry and fashion. There will be 90 handpicked artists in all.
Little says that today there are only a handful of people who produce rugs themselves. She’s been making hers full-time since 1990. The durable, one-of-a-kind rugs are wool, designed, hand drawn and made by using hundreds of blended colors.
