Everyone loves a success story. Combine that with good looks and a great personality and you have Mark Elliott! Mark was born in sunny Miami, Florida. Growing up with small boats, his yearning to become a yacht Captain became apparent at an early age. During the summer months while other teens would be spending lazy days on the beach, Mark would be busy delivering powerboats to many destinations. At the early age of 18, Mark was asked to deliver a 48’ yacht from Miami all the way to Alaska- not a trip for the faint of heart. Mark happily accepted the offer as this trip would give him the sea time necessary to get his first Captain’s license.
From there the boats just kept getting larger. At age 24, he hooked up with the premier yachtsman, Bernie Little. This was a relationship that would lead Mark to being the Captain and Manager of the most successful fleet of charter yachts afloat for over 18 years. In the midst of all of this, Mark became General Manager of Florida Yacht Basin and developed this shipyard into the largest megayacht paint and repair facility on the East Coast. After three years, Mark took over the Allied Marine Shipyard, a Hatteras, Azimut andBenetti dealership with over $30 million in inventory and 110 employees.
Soon thereafter, opportunity to run a motoryacht that required Mark’s skill as a pilot came along. A 166’ yacht with helicopter and sea plane (designed and built by Mark) took over the charter scene. From there, Mark was back with his longtime friend, Bernie Little, and on to the “StarShip” for more fame and glory! Now with over 20 years of managing and running yachts, Mark has thrown out his anchor. Making the decision to sell yachts and market them, Mark has teamed up with the International Yacht Collection. Heading up the new office in St. Maarten during the winter season and a Newport, Rhode Island office in the summer season, Mark has his finger on the pulse of the yachting industry!
